Tools for Finding Wellness

TUPACO Integrates the following techniques and principles:

  • YOGA
    The disciplines and practices of Yoga are more than 2000 years old. As a tool Yoga can bring many benefits such as strength, flexibility, improved cardio support, improved alignment, focus and calm, for example.
  • CORE WORK
    Through core work we strengthen the intrinsic muscles of the core to aid in improved posture and alignment. With this tool we also address balance, flexibility and increased breath control.
  • DANCE
    Though this is not a dance class we use exercises based in dance to tap into our bodies ability to express our thoughts and emotions through movement, honestly and authentically. This sort of dance is never correct or incorrect and it doesn’t matter what it looks like. We use this tool to help us explore, heal and grow, from the inside out.
  • MOVEMENT FUNDAMENTALS
    With the fundamentals of movement we explore the bodies movement pathways and find ways to break out of harmful or limiting movement habits. This study supports healthy neural pathways and connections, and aids in pain relief.
  • BREATH
    We need breath to live and when we breathe well we live better. TUPACO integrates several breath techniques into its practice for increased breath control, increased lung capacity, cardio support, and a deepened sense of awareness and wellbeing. Breathing styles derived from Yoga, Pilates, martial arts, and many other sources add a layer of respiratory integrity to the discipline.
  • SHAVASANA
    Each TUPACO class or workshop ends in the Yogic practice of Shavasana, a relaxing meditation of stillness that allows the body, mind and spirit to process the work it has just completed. In TUPACO Shavasana is accompanied by a vocally led visualization to assist you in complete relaxation and revitalization leaving you calm, rejuvenated and alert.
  • BODY DIALOGUE
    TUPACO creates opportunities for discovering or rediscovering wellness during each session, whether in a class, workshop or private session, we learn how to value and communicate with our own body. By acknowledging the body with love and gratitude we are able to be our own partner in cultivating wellness in our lives. So often we demand so much from our bodies and experience aches, pains, tension, stress and even illness as a result. TUPACO supports healthy communication with the body and creates opportunities for better overall health.
