Pilates
Do you need to relieve back pain due to weak abs, improve posture, strengthen the body or relieve stress?
- Pilates may be the answer for you.
- Jessica Tupa, creator of TUPACO, teaches PHI Pilates and uses it in her practice as well.
- Try this decades old technique and feel the difference in your body immediately.
- You will improve: posture, strength, balance, flexibility and cardiac support.
WHAT IS PILATES?
- Joseph Pilates created Pilates in the early part of the 20th century.
- This technique builds the core strength by focusing on the intrinsic postural muscles.
- Pilates was brilliantly derived, from a diverse set of practices, principles and disciplines to increase core strength, aerobic support, and flexibility as well as improve posture, alignment and breath control, and perfected over several decades.
- This is the an-aerobic, body loving way to really challenge your-self and get into or stay in shape.
- Pilates Mat 1 emphasizes correct technique and breath awareness.
- This class will gently tone the whole body increasing and improving flexibility posture, strength, balance and cardiac support.
See what a recent University student felt about her experience in Pilates with Jessica:
I have truly enjoyed my time in Pilates the last semester. I feel that this class has changed the way I deal with stress and has even improved my day to day posture. The exercises twice a week greatly increased my flexibility, while strengthening my core muscles at the same time. I regularly take study breaks and use the cat/cow position to relieve stress. Also, I have incorporated roll-ups, the swim position, and several others into my cardio routine. I have a positive response to Pilates and it is definitely a work out I want to continue after this class.

Reiki
- Reiki is a form of therapy that uses simple, no touch, hands-on, and visualization techniques, with the goal of improving the flow of life energy in a person or animal. Reiki (pronounced ray-key) means “universal life energy” in Japanese, and Reiki practitioners are trained to detect and alleviate problems of energy flow on the physical, emotional, and spiritual level.
- Reiki touch therapy is used in much the same way to achieve similar effects that traditional massage therapy is used—to relieve stress and pain, and to improve the symptoms of various health conditions.
- After years of studying and utilizing energy work to support her training as a wellness practitioner and artist, Jessica recently completed Level One Reiki training.
